This two-day workshop will transform the way you think about and use photography, teaching you how to capture the magic of a child’s imagination in your photographs. Students will no longer just take ordinary snapshots of kids but instead learn how to create unique and artistic imagery that tells a story. We will cover brainstorming and concept development, sourcing props and costumes, transforming locations, and working with children.
Day one will be spent in the studio looking at presentations of noteworthy photographers, brainstorming concepts, and preparing idea boards. Day two will offer a demonstration shoot from idea generation to execution, and students will have the opportunity to participate. The workshop will be held in the instructor’s Montclair photography studio. A $30 materials fee is payable to the instructor on the first day of the workshop. Students must provide their own camera.
